Admission
Students are admitted in the FALL SEMESTER only. Requirements for admissions are as follows:
The applicant's experience, motivations, intellectual maturity, and probability of success in graduate work will also be considered.
Financial Assistance
The International Development Program offers a number of tuition waivers and graduate assistantships, including special, named ones that are linked to other Ohio University programs which offer practical opportunities for IDS students (click here for more information). These are awarded on a competitive basis. Students wishing to be considered for financial aid should indicate so on their applications. American students may also be eligible for the federally funded work-study program.
U.S. citizens with a particular interest in African regional studies are encouraged to apply for a FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Fellowship. Please click here for more information.
Application deadline is January 1st.
Late applications will be accepted, but priority for financial aid and admission will be given to those who meet the application deadline.
